RealNetworks’ Subscribers Touch 750,000 Mark: RealNetworks (Nasdaq: RNWK) has reported a narrower loss in the second quarter: $1.6 million, or 1 cent per share, compared to a loss of $19.2 million, or 12 cents per share in the year-ago period. Revenues slipped 8.6 percent to $43.8 million from $47.9 million in the year-ago quarter.

On the positive side, the company’s consumer media subscription service has seen rapid growth, with 750,000 subscribers for premium services such as RealOne SuperPass service at the end of second quarter, from 600,000 in April.

Subscription revenue, included in consumer revenue totals, increased to $17.8 million or 31 percent compared to the first quarter of 2002.
