Textually.org has linked to a story about a mobile poker game that allows people to play other people over the mobile phone network, for either ‘play’ or ‘real’ money. It’s a nifty real-time multiplayer mobile application that Pokerroom.com claims will allow people to hone their poker skills – and I guess kill some time on the train to work. However, I was under the impression (given by Maverick, one of my favorite movies) that the skill in playing poker against real people lay in observing them for “tells”.
If you don’t know how to play poker, don’t stress: Summus has plans to release Professsor Of Poker, a mobile Texas Hold’em tutorial game. The tutorials will be written by Howard Lederer, a champion poker player.
