TimesSelect Reverb Continues; Staci Goes On The Air

The TimesSelect tour continues … I’ll be on Chris Lydon’s “Open Source” tonight at 7 p.m. eastern for a show devoted to TimesSelect and other online news rev models. The show will be available as a podcast but you can listen live online, live on XM 133 or pick it up on several public radio stations. The call-in number is 877-673-6767.
Brendan Greeley, the “blogger-in-chief” at Open Source, would like to work some of your comments into the show. His questions: Is this the beginning of the end of the NY Times’ authority? Does this make the Times more relevant or less? What are you willing to pay for? Is it op-eds or news? Both or neither? What’s the best model — print, web or broadcast — that seems to adequately address the question of how to get readers to pay for content (or whether they should at all)? Five years down the road, what will we know as the “paper of record”? Will it be a paper at all?
I’ll add: If you’re a Times print sub who has signed up for TS or you paid for a subscription to TS, is it living up to your expectations?

Let’s give the new comment feature a real workout.
