Six Apart, the San Francisco-based company behind MoveableType, TypePad and Live Journal is about to launch a new affiliate program, targeting mostly pro-bloggers and consultants. According to a page on their site, the affiliates earn $3 per trial subscriber for TypePad, 20% per paid subscription (upto $5) and 10% per license of the Moveable Type (upto $129.) The affiliate program is also a sign that the easy growth for blogging might be behind us, and tool makers have to find a new batch of users. Technorati, a blog search company currently tracks about 25 million blogs. SixApart which is an early and constant leader is now facing new competition, which is only going to intensity in the near future. WordPress has recently launched WordPress.com, a service that is becoming quite popular. Google’s Blogger is poised for a major upgrade later in 2006.
