Nimbus May Buy A Regional TV Network For Sports Telecast

Business Standard: Nimbus Communications, which shot into limelight recently after acquiring the four year Indian cricket rights for $612 million, is now close to buying a regional TV channel in partnership with a foreign broadcasting company. The announcement is just weeks away, says the report.
Nimbus will position the regional television company it acquires as a sports channel. Who its foreign partner is not clear yet. India broadcast space has of late attracted interest from foreign companies like Independent News and Media, Turner International, Malaysia’s Astro, Turner, Reuters and BBC Worldwide.
