US, Japan To Lead Mobile TV Market

Juniper Research has predicted a global mobile TV market of $11.7 billion by 2010, with Japan generating $2.9 billion of that revenue and the US pulling in $1.8 billion. The UK was predicted to generate $989 million in revenue by 2010. “Of the overall broadcast mobile TV subscriber market, Japan, the U.S. and South Korea will make up 39 percent, with Germany, Italy, U.K., India and China making up 36 percent by 2011.” Those are weird groupings, I’m not sure why those countries have been lumped together unless it’s based solely on market size. This is from the report Mobile TV: The Opportunity for Streamed and Broadcast Services, 2006-2011.
