58% Don’t Know Make & Model Of Handset

A little fall-out from the branding war…Consumer research carried out for LogicaCMG by Ipsos Mori has revealed that 49% of mobile users know the manufacturer of their mobile phone but not the make, while a further 9% don’t even know the make manufacturer. This is a problem for vendors of mobile content and other value added services… All it would take is for the make to be inscribed on the phone somewhere — even if the industry players refuse to impact the overall design of the phones with such a mark, it wouldn’t be too hard to have some easy-to-find place in the software that lists all the details of the handset.
