Mobile IM Startup Mig33 Receives $10 Million Funding

Burlingame, CA-based mobile IM and VOIP telephony startup Mig33 has received $10 million in funding. Accel Partners and RedPoint Ventures led the first round investment, which included Technology Venture Partners, reports RedHerring. The company offer mobile phone users VOIP services, IM, SMS-based text messaging, and social-networking services.

Mig33′ s parent company, Project Goth, is based in Perth, Australia, but it is relocating to Burlingame..the service first launched in beta in 2005 and says it has 4 million users.
