— KDDI has announced it will launch widgets in December: “If a widget provided by KDDI and its content partners is downloaded to a mobile phone, the widget will run and display the latest information on the Internet on the standby screen.” TechOn notes the widgets will be branded au one Gadget and there will be about 20 offered, ranging from mail, blogs and railway transfer guidance that KDDI will offer for free. Some partners will offer their own widgets, charged at 100-200 yen (US$0.85 – 1.70).
