tnkgrl has done it again with her internal Bluetooth mod for the Asus Eee PC. Since she had already detailed the available power interfaces on the motherboard of the Eee, she found one to her liking and soldered a connection between it and a small Bluetooth module. There’s room in the Eee for a small, loose module between the trackpad and the LED indicators, so that’s where this little radio ended up. Linux and XP both recognize the new addition and tnkgrl’s got a new wireless connection for peripherals and Bluetooth tethering a phone with 3G connectivity. Even better with this method: it doesn’t remove any existing functionality, like the WiFi for example, and it still leaves that extra PCI-e slot open for memory in the future. Sweet!
