Big Think Raises Angel Money; Launches ‘YouTube For Ideas’

Big Think, a site billing itself as a “YouTube for ideas” has raised unspecified funding from a group of individual backers led by VC David Frankel, along with Peter Thiel, economist Larry Summers, TV producer Gary David Goldberg and Plum TV owner Tom Scott. The NY-based site, which is launching today, features video interviews with a range of notable individuals, including politicians, business leader and academics. It then offers a forum to debate the content and it plans to roll out social networking features as well. The company’s founders, Victoria Brown and Peter Hopkins, were previously producers at PBS and are both Harvard alums. Release.
