Spring Wireless, a mobile software development firm, has raised $2.4 million worth of a proposed $4.4 million round of funding, per an SEC filing. The Brazil-based company set up shop in Seattle last year, after picking up $66 million in funding (pdf) from investors like Goldman Sachs, NEA and Ideiasnet. The company did not respond to a request for more info about this new round — though former Salesforce.com CFO Steve Cakebread is now listed as a board member.
Spring Wireless offers a number of business-centric mobile applications, including banking and payment systems, ads, coupons, WAP site development and entertainment products like quizzes and polls. Clients include P&G, *Cisco* and Citibank, among others.
