You have to hand it to Amazon Web Services — it certainly knows how to bring users into the EC2 fold. While its new pilot for letting customers run their Microsoft Windows Servers Enterprise Agreement licenses in EC2 has been getting most of the press, AWS also has partnered with open-source application portal JumpBox. Now, JumpBox visitors can launch a side variety of applications — from databases to wikis — on EC2 with a few clicks. I think we’ll see more of this from AWS and other cloud providers as they move to make cloud computing as easy as possible.
