Tiger Metrics: Day One Masters Traffic More Than Doubles For CBSSports.com

Tiger Woods delivered on the course and online on the opening day of the 2010 Masters. The overall numbers are sure to be larger when Masters.com traffic is taken into effect but CBSSports.com alone had 556,090 uniques — more than double last year’s 239,013. They watched 392,901 hours of live video, up 71 percent over 2009. Some of the increase comes from expanded access but it’s hard to argue that much of it comes from Woods. Interestingly, though, the average time spent viewing was only up 20 percent — the average visit for live and VOD was 17.48 minutes, compared with 14.63 minutes last year.
CBSSports.com should get another Woods lift today on Masters Live today: the network gets to feature select pairings playing holes 10-18 — and the first featured Friday group includes Woods, K.J. Choi & Matt Kuchar, expected to hit online screens at about 12:30 ET.
