VMIX, a provider of white-label video management services, has added new features to its analytics suite that provide to its customers more granular and real-time data about the videos they’re distributing. The new tools include the ability to track multiple metrics in a graphic or table view, build personalized reports that can then be exported or embedded so that others can view them, and create custom dashboard for viewing data on company intranets or subdomains.
Through integration with content delivery network Akamai (s AKAM), VMIX enables its users to get a deep dive into some data that would not be available otherwise. VMIX CTO Greg Kostello said in a phone interview that such data includes, for example, what percentage of a video was completed or the relative quality of service for videos delivered.
Analytics have become an increasingly important part of video management, with many OVP firms adding advanced reporting features in-house or by partnering with third-party providers. In the most recent upgrade to its video management offering, for instance, Brightcove added new analytics and reporting features powered by TubeMogul.
With those new tools, VMIX says video publishers will be able to more quickly spot trends and make business decisions The new analytics tools, which will be available for free to all customers of its video management platform, will be rolled out to customers beginning later this week.
