BlackBerry Curve 3G — High Speed, OS 6 Ready

Research In Motion (RIM) (s rimm) is releasing a new model in its popular Curve line of phones: the Curve 3G. As the name implies, the new Curve will work on 3G networks for faster data connections. The big news from RIM about the Curve 3G (model 9300) is that the phone is “BlackBerry 6 ready”. BlackBerry 6 is the next version of the OS due out later this year that was recently announced with great fanfare.

The Curve 3G will be available from T-Mobile in the U.S. and various carriers globally beginning this month. The new phone will handle Wi-Fi and GPS in addition to the new 3G capability.

The Curve line of phones from RIM has been very popular globally, as they are good first-time smartphones for consumers. The BlackBerry may not be in the news every day, but RIM is still a top producer of smartphones world-wide.
