Industry Moves: Ustream; Cablevision; Dow Jones & Co.

Ustream: The San Francisco, C.A.-based company has opened offices in Hollywood to focus on digital distribution, content acquisition, sports, mobile, ad sales and production services. Its leadership team includes: Jason Kirk, VP of distribution and media; Wayne Sieve, VP of sports; and Jeff Varnell, executive director of business development. Kirk and Varnell have both worked at MySpace (NSDQ: NWS), and Wayne joins from Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) Sports and Entertainment.

Cablevision: James A. Blackley has been promoted to EVP of corporate engineering and technology. He’ll continue to serve as Cablevision’s chief engineering executive, reporting to COO Tom Rutledge. Blackley joined Cablevision (NYSE: CVC) in 1996 and held positions in IT and as SVP of technology architecture.

Dow Jones & Co.: David Chivers was just appointed VP of Factiva products to lead the Factiva portfolio as well as its Wall Street Journal Professional Edition offerings. Previously, he was executive director for and new products for The Wall Street Journal Digital Network. Before that, he was director of online audience development for Meredith (NYSE: MDP) Corporation.
