Today in Social

I’m sorry, but these are not “details” about Google’s social media strategy. And, really, how interesting or engaging would a real-time feed about my emails and searches be to my friends? It might be interesting to marketers, but probably not in real-time and then only in aggregate. (Web-wide, real-time, 1:1 behavioral targeting is a few years away…I hope.) As noted earlier, there’s some good discussion about layering on social “stuff” versus delivering an intended social experience here. I acknowledge Google needs to access social data, but I’m not convinced it has to build a social network to do so.
