Facebook is denying a TechCrunch report that it’s working on a Facebook-branded phone, but CNET also affirms Facebook has reached out to handset manufacturers about such a thing. Silicon Alley Insider says having its own deeply integrated phone would make it a better mobile platform, and on our own pages, Liz Gannes agrees, saying it would aid in competition vs. Google. But Google doesn’t make a phone anymore, and most reports think a Facebook phone would run Android. And all the features these articles brainstorm could be delivered via the cloud. Wouldn’t that make more sense?
