In-Text Ad Startup Vibrant Hints At Coming IPO; Hires New CFO

Vibrant, whose double-underlined in-text ads have become ubiquitous on many top sites, has hired Jeff Babka as its CFO. Babka was formerly CFO at mobile IM firm NeuStar, which went public under his watch, and more recently was CFO at global IT firm Sophos, which was sold to a PE firm in an $830 million deal this summer. Vibrant is giving lots of hints that an IPO of its own is coming soon, and a spokeswoman says that, with Babka’s hire, the company is “well positioned for an IPO next year.” Vibrant says revenue was $100 million last year, which puts it in league with the other digital media startups we are expecting filings from soon.
