Man, its been a bad few weeks for Windows Home Server. First, the community was outraged by the removal of Drive Extender from the next release of WHS (see great coverage of this story here), and now HP has announced they’re pulling the plug on WHS. ¬†While it’s never gotten huge adoption, WHS was one of Microsoft’s truly innovative efforts in the last few years, and now it looks like platform alignment with it’s small business server products and lack of widescale adoption are bringing about a double whammy threatening to knock WHS into near-complete irrelevance.
