Today in Mobile

Cisco and T-Mobile USA today announced a system designed to help companies lower their telecom expenses by shifting more of their mobile voice and data calls over Wi-Fi as well as providing seamless roaming between Wi-Fi and cellular for smartphone users. While the companies didn’t disclose many details, a T-Mo exec said the effort gives the carrier reach into businesses “that wouldn’t be inclined to go to T-Mobile for network services.” Which is another example of how the smallest tier-one carrier in the U.S. thinks outside the box to stay competitive.
