No single story today, but rather a handful that shows Facebook continuing to play the platform ecosystem game successfully. That is, offering a set of technologies and APIs that developers can leverage while they gain access to Facebook’s enormous user base. Facebook itself is evolving its platform toward more of a mobile focus, partly by focusing on HTML5. It’s trying to help game companies adopt that same technology. Meanwhile, Netflix plans to use Facebook technology to improve its personalization. And this might indicate that Facebook is working on a VOIP product, or just furthering its unified communications ambitions by integrating Skype.
