Research In Motion co-CEO Mike Lazaridis is making some unwanted headlines this morning after losing his cool and storming out of a video interview with the BBC. Lazaridis, who apparently wanted to plug RIM’s PlayBook, seemed surprised and offended when the interviewer pressed him (pretty gently, actually) on RIM’s ongoing security negotiations with the Indian government. The topic has been in the news for months, so it’s astounding that any RIM executive would get in front of a camera without being prepared for the question. Which makes me think that maybe Lazaridis’s meltdown¬†has more to do with RIM’s waning market share than its problems in India.
