Today in Mobile

Joshua Topolsky today posted a thought-provoking read today discussing how Hewlett Packard’s webOS could win in mobile. There’s little doubt that the operating system has the muscle to compete with Android and iOS, but Palm was never able to make much of a dent in the market even as smartphone usage began to soar. Topolsky contends that instead of “trying to take on iTunes” and other services, HP should support existing services to deliver “cloud connectedness” that makes them manageable. It’s a good strategy that could thrive in the wide-open world of smartphones and mobile data.
