The future of the EPG is going to be much different than today’s grid guide, and I think the BBC’s semantic-driven guide is an interesting contribution. The intersection between big-data and the navigation of entertainment is becoming ever more apparent, and the ability to be able to search for mere mentions or occurrences of topics in a huge number of shows, and the resulting data can also be interesting to gauge the trending of topics across shows in general (a potentially very interesting new tool for brand marketers).
