Today in Connected Consumer

This week is the Book Expo America confab in New York, and the rumors are flying fast and furious about Google in particular. One is that Google is considering launching an e-book rental service, while another has Google walking away from e-books entirely.  While I have my doubts about Google getting out of e-books, I have almost as many doubts about them launching a rental service, which seems somewhat far-fetched for a company that has had problems launching first-party pay services for content.
