New Hires At Draftfcb, JWT Look To Spread Digital Disciplines

Online advertising is still dominated by text-based search ads and basic display banner ads that involve little creativity. But with more ad tech firms expanding their use of larger display formats to entice lucrative brand dollars, Madison Avenue, which has focused its creative work mostly on traditional TV and print areas, are expanding the work and training of their staffs to give digital a more central role.
Draftfcb New York is reorganizing its integrated production disciplines under EVP Anthony Nelson, who was most recently at Crispin, Porter + Bogusky fame where he worked on campaigns including Burger King’s controversial Whopper Virgins, the Volkswagen Gypsy Cab Project.
Over at JWT, Laura Agostini has been named “chief talent officer,” a human resources post that will involve training programs to ensure digital know-how is spread across all agency disciplines. She was previously at Publicis Modem, the global digital arm of Publicis, and had worked for Publicis Groupe’s Digitas Europe, where she was managing director of the London office.
