Google Brings Its +1 Button To Rest Of World With 19 Media Partnerships

Three months after introducing its Facebook Like rival on its U.S.-facing, Google (NSDQ: GOOG) is now introducing its +1 button to the rest of its sites around the world

It’s announcing 19 media partners who have added +1 buttons to their news articles and pages, including The Telegraph,, NME and

Google has been wooing publishers to introduce the button. Some publishers were initially concerned about how much access they would have to data collected by Google from readers who “+1” articles.

That verb still doesn’t exactly trip off the tongue. It originates in developer circles, in which coders would “+1” an idea amongst peers.

“+1” is another Google product that doesn’t work on Google Apps accounts, however.
