Today’s must-read comes courtesy analyst Chetan Sharma, whose review of the first half of 2011 in the mobile industry is making headlines. As my colleague Stacey Higginbotham discusses here, Sharma pegs the worldwide mobile industry at $1.3 trillion for 2011, or about half of global GDP. And as Mobile Marketing Watch points out, data is on pace to account for 95 percent of global mobile traffic by 2015. So while our appetite for mobile data has surged over the last year or two, we’re still just seeing the tip of the iceberg.
