Allot Communications today said that YouTube accounts for a whopping 22 percent of all mobile data bandwidth during the first half of 2011, and overall video streaming accounted for 39 percent. Those are amazingly high figures considering that mobile video services are only now beginning to get legs among consumers, according to In-Stat. So expect to see plenty of stories about how video usage is pushing mobile networks to the breaking point as usage grows in the coming months.
