Demonstrating for all of once again how competition is good for the consumer, Amazon responded to Apple’s revised appstore rules by launching its Kindle Cloud Reader, an HTML5 e-reader app that, for the most part, seems to mimic the functionality of a native app. Darrell¬†gives a nice review, while Mathew¬†points out how the Amazon effort is illustrative of how other media companies need to push more towards HTML5 and the web and start to diversify from the restrictions of walled gardens.
