Flush from a recent funding round, net-top box maker Roku recently announced its entry into casual games, offering not only Angry Birds on its Roku2 line of boxes but also a new lineup of games from developer Accedo. ¬†While I think there’s opportunity at the low-end of the market for casual games (and there is no doubt casual gaming is a bigger addressable market, potentially, than hardcore gaming, though the money isn’t nearly as big), I’m not sure that a small stable of games on an underpowered device like a Roku will prove very popular.
