Everyday Health Puts Ex-ABC News Digital Head Slavin In Charge Of Video

Wellness news and info online network Everyday Health has been working on expanding its video content to TV for a while and it now has exec it believes will enhance those efforts: it’s brought in Paul Slavin, who left his post as the head of ABC (NYSE: DIS) News Digital in April, to run Everyday Health’s video and global news build out.

Coincidentally, in July, Everyday Health got its own TV program during the Saturday morning block following Good Morning America across most ABC local stations. The first show kicked off earlier this month and was considered the first of what Everyday Health hopes is many other such deals.

A veteran of ABC News for 33 years, Slavin stepped down after it was clear that he wouldn’t get the top job following David Westin’s resignation last September. That job went to Ben Sherwood instead.

Among other things, Slavin, who will report to Goli Sheikholesiami, EVP and chief product officer, is charged with establishing the Everyday Health Studios business unit.
