Vyomesh Joshi will be moving onto other things after a 31-year career at HP that has seen him running HP’s printer group for the last several years. That group will now be combined with HP’s PC group under Todd Bradley, HP confirmed Wednesday morning, in a move likely designed to cut costs across two divisions that haven’t been pulling their weight as much as in the past.

As noted yesterday, the two groups used to be two of the company’s brightest stars, but growth in mobile computers is eating away at PC sales, although HP remains the largest PC company in the world. And printer ink isn’t quite the cash cow it used to be as more businesses embrace cloud-based collaboration tools
