Another company riding China’s booming online games market, Shanda Games operates titles like Dragon Nest, Legend of Immortals and Woool. Some 20.4 million active users on average played Shanda’s games in Q4 2011, with an average 4.5 million of them paying an average RMB 92.8 ($14.50) per month.
Key Move
Shanda has been trying to break outside of China. Licensing its games to portals in Thailand, Indonesia, Russia and Germany brought an 89 percent lift in international sales year-on-year.
