Chicken Soup for the Soul partners with Open Road on ebooks

With over 500 million copies in print, the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series is now available as ebooks through a partnership with digital publisher and marketer Open Road.

Open Road will publish digital editions of the first 160 titles in the series (which includes over 200 titles in all). The digital list price is $7.99. “With the name recognition and fan base already behind ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul,'” says Soup CEO Bill Rouhana, “we are looking forward to bringing the ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ message to millions of additional people through our ebook partnership with [Open Road].”

The first Chicken Soup title was published in print in 1993. Some of the titles will receive light editing before being released as ebooks. “Chicken Soup For the Soul has an incredible brand and the material remains as relevant as ever, with a few minor tweaks,” says Open Road chief marketing officer Rachel Chou.

“Chicken Soup for the Soul” is the latest entrant to Open Road’s publishing partners program, which also includes Good Books and Open Road was founded by former HarperCollins CEO Jane Friedman in 2009.
