The big Apple/Samsung patent trial in the Bay Area is forcing both companies to disclose a lot of data they’d rather keep to themselves, as All Things D reports here. Some tidbits from the latest round of disclosure include the fact that Samsung’s recent best-selling phone is the Galaxy Prevail, an Android-running handset offered by Boost Mobile and described by Gizmodo as some piece of crap), while the Epic 4G has been Samsung’s most lucrative handset lately. And my colleague Erica Ogg puts some of the numbers into context here while examining the difference between “shipments” and “sales.” As Ogg reminds us, that’s an important distinction to keep in mind as you wade through the endless wave of “sales” estimates and market-share forecasts.
