Apple partially wins patent case against Samsung at US ITC: Reports

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has handed a partial victory to Apple (s AAPL) in its patent infringement claims against Samsung, according to reports from Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal. The Journal in a breaking news alert adds that ITC has ordered ban on a few Samsung devices that infringe two Apple patents and that ITC has found no Samsung violations on four other Apple patents. The victory could put Samsung’s smartphones and tablets business in jeopardy.

The latest ruling caps a week of good news for Apple on the patent front. On June 4, ITC ruled that Apple infringed on Samsung’s patents. Earlier this month, Apple found support in Washington DC and US President Barack Obama vetoed the patent ruling by the ITC that bans import of older models of iPhone and iPad. This report on Bloomberg is good read to get a general background on the sparring between these two giants.
