After supplying the chips that power other Android(s goog) tablets, Nvidia(s nvda) has a slate of its own. The 7-inch Tegra TAB was seen by Liliputing on Monday as it passed through the FCC certification process. It’s possible that Nvidia could sell the tablet directly, as it does with its Shield gaming device, or other companies could offer the Tegra TAB with their own branding.
It’s also very likely that two different versions of the Tegra TAB will appear. The FCC documentation points out both a 3200mAh and a 4100mAh battery. And one of the product images mentions an HDMI port for a “premium model”.
That model will also include a stylus and, according to the user manual, the following pen-friendly apps will be pre-loaded: Sketchbook Express, Stylus Mobile, Write and Nvidia’s own Pen Application Launcher.
Other tidbits gleaned from the manual include support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC; Camera Awesome as the default camera application; and a pair of cameras with the rear one using a 5-megapixel sensor with HDR support. The tablet surely runs Android Jelly Bean based on the software screenshots shown in the user guide.
