Hootsuite announces beta integration with IBM Connections

Hootsuite, the social media management company, has announced an integration of the Hootsuite dashboard with IBM Connections. This means that IBM Connections users will be able to see IBM Connections streams and information in the Hootsuite dashboard, and to readily take social data from Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and other sources and distribute that into IBM Connections.

Regarding the integration, Ryan Holmes, the CEO of Hootsuite, offered this on the Hootsuite blog,

Social media has become a powerful tool for innovative organizations that recognize the value of real-time engagement and collaboration between employees. IBM Connections users now have an efficient and effective way to bring their personal and public social media profiles into their workplace. I’m thrilled for this partnership and what it means for the future of organization-wide collaboration.

Clearly, Hootsuite was responding to market requests: IBM Connections customers who also use Hootsuite as a social media management solution. People dislike having to switch back and forth from one tool to another: it’s a major disruption in productivity, and leads to decreased results in social media and social business sides of the equation.

The integration is currently in a private beta. Apply here if you are interested.
