If you’re headed to Structure Data later this month (March 19-20) in New York, you might be looking for something to do on Wednesday night. Well, we’ve got you covered with a couple hours of tech-focused pub trivia.
It’s pretty simple. New Relic is supplying the drinks and the grand prizes (three iPad Minis), and Gigaom is supplying the hosts (myself and Stacey Higginbotham). All you have to do is show up around 8 p.m., find a team and answer questions. The best part: It takes place at Chelsea’s 675 Bar, just a 10-minute walk from the conference.

And while we’re on the topic of extra-conference activities, now seems like a good time to mention the schedule for our Data Lab sessions that will take place on the second day of Structure Data. The series of five tech talks, focusing on how to take advantage of new data sources, will take place concurrent with some of the afternoon’s main-stage sessions and run until about 90 minutes after the main stage sessions wrap up.
We expect some attendees will want to watch the first few to learn about analyzing and commercializing sound, video and SaaS behavioral data. We hope even more attendees will grab a drink after the main stage wraps up and head over to hear about best practices for analyzing Twitter and image data.
Here’s the complete Data Lab schedule:
- 2:00: Chris Neumann, DataHero
- 2:30: Vasu Kulkarni, Krossover
- 3:00: Brian Whitman, The Echo Nest
- 3:35: Grab a drink!
- 3:45: Nathan Oostendorp, Sight Machine
- 4:10: Ted Bailey, Dataminr
