It’s time: Pebble smartwatch gets its Android app store, new software partners

After introducing its appstore for iOS (s aapl) devices in January, Pebble followed suit for Android(s goog) owners on Friday. The company had been beta-testing Pebble 2.0 for Android for several weeks and the software has finally graduated to become generally available. Pebble owners can download the new software directly from the Google Play Store to get access to the Pebble appstore and a few new software partners.

Aside from the more than 1,000 apps in the Pebble appstore already, Pebble added three new partners in conjunction with the Android launch of Pebble 2.0:

  • eBay(s ebay). With this app, you can scan through product listings and add items to your eBay Watch List. You can’t actually buy or bid on items on the Pebble smartwatch, but with the Watch List, you can complete transactions on your handset.

  • Evernote. Notes, Reminders and Checklists from Evernote will sync from the cloud to your Pebble for viewing without needing to take a smartphone out of your pocket.

  • Time Warner Cable(s twc). No, you won’t be watching TV on your Pebble. If you’re a TWC Intelligent Home subscriber, however, you can remotely view status and control your home from a smartwatch.

Aside from the three new apps and hundreds already available, I’d expect many more in a short time: Pebble said in late January that more than 6,000 developers registered for the Pebble SDK to bring software to your wrist.
