We’ve launched a new survey to look at IT decision makers’ plans and attitudes toward the cloud and enterprise mobility. As we’ve been doing for the past few years, Gigaom Research is teaming up with North Bridge Venture Partners on the cloud segment, with the object of presenting survey highlights onstage at Structure.
We’ll analyze and compare the responses of mainstream and early adopters, so that tech buyers can benchmark themselves when they’re doing their own technology planning. And this year, we’re going to do some innovative analysis on IT intentions for moving different types of workload to the cloud. That analysis will help us build a forecast model for adoption that should be equally valuable to users and tech vendors.
I’m interested in seeing how attitudes might have changed towards cloud computing inhibitors (last year’s attitudes are below), and whether large enterprises are going to go hybrid or move rapidly towards public cloud configurations. Help contribute to our research efforts, and add your input to the survey. It’s open till the end of the month. We’ll compare those results to ones from decision makers recruited via survey panel for the leading-edge vs. mainstream comparisons.
You might have noticed that Gigaom Research has been doing a lot more survey-based analysis of late. That’s a trend we’ll be increasing.
