Developers can start working on Apple Watch apps next month

The Apple Watch isn’t the focus of Thursday’s event in Cupertino, but Apple CEO Tim Cook still shared some updates on how it will roll out.

Although we didn’t get any clarification about when [company]Apple[/company] Watch will hit the market — it’s still scheduled for “early 2015” — Cook said the WatchKit software development kit will be released to developers in November 2014. That gives developers a few months to get apps ready before the watch launches next year.

Cook mentioned that the Apple Watch is on the cover of Vogue China this month. “Apple Watch is as much about personal expression as functionality, ” Cook said.

“Apple Watch has received great reception from the tech community, as well as the health and fitness community,” Cook said. “As well as people who know a lot about more about fashion and style than I do.”
