Twitpic’s shutdown saga comes to a weird end that founder calls embarrassing

A month or so after telling the world Twitpic would be shutting down, then backtracking and saying it had found a buyer, Twitpic has reversed its position once again. The service, which was one of the first ways to share photos on Twitter, is closing its doors after all, since aquisition talks fell through. Founder Noah Everett said in a blog post, “I’m sincerely sorry (and embarrassed) for the circumstances leading up to this, from our initial shutdown announcement to an acquisition false alarm.”
