CEO Sam Ramji talks future of Cloud Foundry on live Fireside Chat

Cloud Foundry Foundation, the independent governing body overseeing today’s leading open source Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), is rapidly gaining momentum in the enterprise cloud industry. The recent announcement of Sam Ramji as CEO and the appointment of board members¬†from EMC, HP, IBM, Intel, Pivotal, SAP, VMware, ActiveState and Swisscom strengthens the foundation’s open governance model and positions Cloud Foundry for long-term growth.

Following these announcements, Sam Ramji will join Bernard Golden, VP of Strategy at ActiveState, for a live Fireside Chat webcast this Friday, February 20th, at 11 AM Pacific/2 PM Eastern.

This Fireside Chat will be an open discussion about the state of the foundation, the Cloud Foundry community and the PaaS industry. Discussion topics will include:

  • Why Sam took on this role
  • The future of PaaS in the cloud computing movement
  • How the needs and expectations of end-users will be integrated into the foundation
  • The relationship between the Cloud Foundry Foundation and the Linux Foundation
  • Where does the industry stand on adoption of open source?

In anticipation of the webcast, Sam commented: “I’m looking forward to sharing our perspective on the growth and momentum happening inside and around the community. The future of the project depends on having an open dialogue between all stakeholders. I hope to get a lot of community input as a result of our fireside chat.”

Audience questions will be addressed in real-time and can be submitted on Twitter using #CLFchat. Registration is currently open at fireside.activestate.com.
