In a move that highlights the importance of design, software and data, wearable computing hardware company Jawbone is buying design agency Visere along with mobile app maker MassiveHealth. The company hope to marry their talents with its embedded computing expertise.
Songza launched in 2007, and put to rest a year later. In 2011, it was reincarnated as a mobile music discovery service and a mobile app. By marrying algorithms with human curation, the service wants to challenge Pandora and others in battle for music-app supremacy.
Mozilla has appointed Aza Raskin as the creative lead for Firefox. Raskin is one of the foremost experts in user interfaces and over the years has developed expertise in web user interfaces. In 2008, Raskin joined Mozilla and worked for Mozilla Labs.
Sure it’s early days in the mobile browser wars, but early days have a tendency to fly by quickly, and by the time Firefox introduces a beta version of its upcoming mobile browser later this year, it may be too late.
