Amazon and EPIX have signed a deal to make streaming movies like The Hunger Games, Iron Man 2 and The Avengers free to Amazon Prime members. Previously, Netflix had exclusive rights to EPIX recent releases.
Amazon announced that “The Hunger Games” is now its bestselling series in the United States, beating Harry Potter. Publisher Scholastic said last month that the trilogy has sold over 50 million copies in the United States since its publication in 2008.

Over this past weekend, “The Hunger Games” set the highest opening weekend for a non-sequel, raking in an estimated $155 million at the box office. Fandango, one of the first movie ticket sales sites, says “The Hunger Games” pushed its mobile platform to new heights.
